Bele Chere 2013

Lexington Avenue Interactive Performances

The Lexington Avenue Performance Area (located at the intersection of North Lexington and Walnut Streets) features interactive performances throughout the weekend. Watch demonstrations and participate in Zumba, ballroom or swing dancing, and clogging. Also check out Asheville’s infamous Community Drum Circle. During Bele Chere, the drummers get the crowd moving on both Friday and Saturday nights with their rhythmic beats.

In addition to a fantastic lineup of interactive performances at the Lexington Avenue Performance Area, please check out our highly talented street performers found throughout the festival footprint.

Street Entertainers

Asheville’s street entertainers – also known as “buskers” -- add to Bele Chere’s artsy character. Musicians, living statues, and jugglers are just some of the street entertainers you are likely to encounter. Buskers are found throughout the festival but there is no set performance schedule. Regardless, unexpected entertainment is around almost every corner.
